The bay is a marine conservation area, and an ideal place to enjoy swimming, snorkeling and kayaking. An ancient Hawaiian Heiau (Temple) overlooks Captain Cook Monument and the pristine blue waters where spinner dolphins, sea turtles and whales are often seen. The house itself is located on the edge of the village, bordering a small quiet canyon. A variety of birds fill the air with song.
